Hello and welcome to another edition of Mosh Pit Monday. Mosh Pit Monday is all about showcasing new bands, new music and familiar sounds from around the world. It’s just mind boggling how many bands are out there so when I come across a good one, I want to share it with the world. We had outstanding winter weather here this last week. In fact, it was like a summer’s day last Saturday. A great day to get out and about, in the backyard unfortunately, but that grass just doesn’t stop growing. In case you missed it, I hit another milestone in my recovery journey earlier this year and I blogged about it here. I hope you had a great week.
This week I’d like to introduce you to an alternative punk band from my home town of Brisbane, Columbus. I did catch them briefly when they opened Soundwave XV back in 2015. They are sick! I’ve been a big fan of punk since the 80’s. These guys have now become a real favourite of mine and I can’t wait to see them again.
Band members are Alex Moses on guitar/vocals, Daniel Seymour on drums and Ben Paynter on bass/vocals. Forming in March 2012, the guys have been continuously releasing new music and making their way around the country to rave reviews. They’ve got a new album “Spring Forever” coming out on 26 August 2016 followed by a national tour. You really don’t want to miss it. A fresh presence on the Australian punk scene with an upbeat sound and lyrics about everyday stuff that we can all relate to.
New Single “Raindrop”
Here’s their new single “Raindrop” from their upcoming album release. Easy to listen to, a good beat and music you want to listen to all the time. Great job guys! You can follow Columbus on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Thanks for joining me again this week. I hope you all have a great week in music and don’t forget, keep moshin’. \,,,/ \,,,/
