Mosh Pit Monday
Hey, it’s Monday so you know what that means? Time for Mosh Pit Monday. Time for me to share some new to me or favourite bands of mine. Great news for me gig wise. One of my favourite bands, Bullet For My Valentine have been confirmed for Soundwave 2016. Besides seeing Parkway Drive and Pennywise later this year, I can’t wait for January 2016 to see Bullet and probably some more of my faves.
Sticking with the #AllAussieAugust theme throughout the month of August, I’d like to introduce you to one of my favourite Aussie hardcore metal bands, I Killed The Prom Queen.  I’ve seen them a couple of times and think they’re bloody awesome.  Originating in in Adelaide, South Australia as far back as 2000, the guys enjoyed success by touring the US, Japan and parts of Europe including working closely with Parkway Drive on a split CD. Due to an inability to find a permanent vocalist, the band split in 2007. In 2011, Jamie Hope came on board and the guys have picked up where they left off.
Band members are Jamie Hope on vocals, Jona Weinhofen on guitar, Kevin Cameron on guitar, Shane O’brien on drums and Benjamin Coyte on bass.  I saw them at Soundwave 2014 in Brisbane and they are such a great band live. The guys have just wrapped up a summer touring with the Vans Warped Tour in the US and I couldn’t be more proud. They are a fine Aussie act and represent what is good and great with metal in Australia.
Check out “To The Wolves” from their 2014 released “Beloved” album. It’s as good as any of the tunes that I Killed The Prom Queen have put out. To follow their upcoming tour schedule and keep track of news on the band, you can follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Can’t wait to see the guys live again. Hope they’re on the bill for Soundwave next year. If not, I’ll be catching up with them very soon next time they’re in Brisbane. Great job guys and congratulations on your success so far.
Hope you all have a great week in music and remember, keep moshin! ,,,/ ,,,/
