Welcome to what is a chilly winter morning here in Brisbane, Australia and another Mosh Pit Monday. I suppose you get that in the middle of July. Been a big week music wise for me with some old mates of mine who I used to jam with coming on board the Forever Falling Short journey. We’re looking for a singer and I have a few guys lined up that I’m keen to talk to. Stay tuned for more info.
Great news for music coming to town with Pennywise tickets going on sale tomorrow (one of my all time favourite bands) and we’ve secured tickets for Parkway Drive who tour in October. Can’t wait to see them both.
This week’s Mosh Pit Monday is a band I’m only new to but so, so good. Convictions are an aggressive Christian ‘worship’ band out of Fremont, Ohio, USA. I don’t know too much else about them other than they sound shit hot. As good as any metal band out there with some hot guitar riffs, an awesome growl with equal harmonious vocals. Band members are Micheal Felker on vocals, John Fleischmann on vocals/bass, Joshua Canode on guitar, Tommy Silva on guitar and Zach Schwochow on drums.
The guys have a new album, “Hallowed Spirit // Violent Divide” due out on 28 July 2015 and if it’s anything like the stuff I’ve already heard of theirs it’ll be damn good.
This is the first single, “Doubt // Full” off the new album. Check it out. Even if you aren’t a fan of Christian music, these sounds are as good as any mainstream metal band out there. If you listen to the lyrics you can apply them to just about any life experience, like I do. You don’t have to be a Christian to appreciate it. They’re a damn fantastic bunch of guys producing some great sounds. They’re on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr with their own website here.
Have a fantastic week in music and stay rocked! ,,,/ ,,,/
