Mosh Pit Monday
Welcome to another week of Mosh Pit Monday. Hope you had a great weekend and checked out some great gigs. Me, no. It’s been a while (since Soundwave in fact) since I’ve seen any live music. Other than what I’m jamming from day to day, it’s been a while since I’ve seen or heard any great new live music. I was, however, very lucky to receive the brand new EP from “Last 9 Days“, a fantastic heavy metal act out of Brisbane. You should check them out. You can listen to their latest offerings at Reverbnation here.
100 years of Anzac - The Spirit lives 2014-2018
This Saturday, the 25th of April, will be a very sombre occasion for all Australians and New Zealanders with the 100th anniversary of the landing of the ANZACs on the shores of Gallipoli. It’s a day we all hold in very high regard here in Australia when we give thanks and appreciate all the men and women who served in all conflicts from the Boar War to more recent conflicts such as the wars in the Middle East.

I trust we can all take a minute out of our busy lives to remember the fallen and the brave men and women who sacrifice their lives every day for us to live in peace.

This week’s Mosh Pit Monday is all about Main Event, a rock band out of Sacremento, CA. The guys have been around for a while and are already achieving great success. The guys have been around since 2005 and have made breakthroughs due to their background in motocross and have featured in dirt bike magazines and films. Band members comprise Vincent Blair, Daniel Blair, Cliff Campbell, Mike Mason and Dustin J.
Their EP called Hiatus is a great mix of hard rockin’ punchy beats with great lyrics. They’re a hard working band who are worthy of big commercial success.
One of my favourite tracks from the EP is “The Fire Inside Me”. Here it is featured on a promotional video clip for Travis Pastrana’s Action Figures. Follow them on Facebook to keep track of when they might be playing in a town near you.   You can purchase the EP from iTunes here. I hope they get to Aus because I’d love to catch them live. Great work guys!
Hope you have a great week in music. Keep rockin’. ,,,/ ,,,/
