Welcome to another week of Mosh Pit Monday! If you’re in Queensland you’ll know that it’s been hot, hot, hot this week and doesn’t look like any relief is in sight just yet. I guess you get that in the middle of January in the southern hemisphere. We’ve been doing very little and just trying to stay cool.
Unfortunately, due to work commitments, I didn’t get a chance to go to the grand final of the Reign Havok Battle of the Bands comp but I heard that Xens Arrival won and a worthy winner they are. They are already doing amazing things and will go great places. Commiserations to the other bands who competed on the night, Pyre & Ice, Dead Zephyr, Worse for Wear and Particles in Motion. All worthy winners in my book as well.
I also didn’t get to see Red Tendrils last Friday night due to work but will hopefully see them really soon.
This week I’d like to introduce you to one of my first Twitter followers. I’ve been discovering some fantastic music out there in the world from some fantastic bands via Twitter. One such band is As Paradise Falls. A deathcore metal band out of Brisbane, my home town, who go off. Already making their way in the metal scene in Australia by supporting acts such as Molotov Solution, Make Them Suffer and Attila, just to name a few.
The band consists of Ravi Sherwell (vocals), Danny Kenneally (guitar), Glen Barrie (guitar), Jon Messer (bass) and Christian Rady (drums). Very similar to one of my all time favourite Aussie metal bands, Parkway Drive, As Paradise Falls, have a very individual style with original lyrics and a great sound.
They’re supporting I Killed The Prom Queen with Countdown to Armageddon on Valentine’s Day at the Metro Hotel in Ipswich from 9pm for just $20. I’ll have to check if the girlfriend is up for a romantic night of listening to some deathcore metal. I’m sure she will!
Chek out their new single “Equilibrium” off their new album “Save Yourself“. TURN IT UP! Thanks guys for following Forever Falling Short. I hope to catch you guys live in the very near future. You can follow As Paradise Falls here on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram.
Hope to catch some great live gigs this weekend. This weekend we celebrate Australia Day with a long weekend. I’ll be reporting back next Monday on the great Aussie bands we caught up with so until then, peace out! ,,,/ ,,,/
