Mosh Pit Monday
It’s Monday so that means it’s time for Mosh Pit Monday. Time to get your head banging and get moshing to a great new band I’d like to introduce you to. It’s been just over a week since I got married and I feel like I’m still on a high from it all. It was one of the best days of my life and it truly is a wonderful feeling to be married to someone you love.

This last week we spent a lot of down time just trying to get over the mad rush leading up to the wedding and missed some gigs we had in our calendar but we’ll make up for it over the next couple of weeks with Pennywise on Wednesday night and Parkway Drive a couple weeks after. Iron Maiden are touring next year but we’re not sure if we’ve got enough extra cash to see them at this stage. All our money will be going towards Soundwave 2016 tickets which should be going on sale soon. That gig always attracts some big name bands including Bullet For My Valentine who have already been confirmed.
This week I’d like to introduce you to a band from my home state of Queensland, Promethean, a deathcore metal band out of Toowoomba. I’ve only just come across these guys and they really do have a big sound. It’s just amazing how I keep finding these fantastic local bands with such a great sound that could rival any of the big metal bands on the world stage.
Promethean are a relatively new band having only formed in February 2014 but are already pretty big on the gig scene in south east Queensland. Band members are Russell Brown on vocals, Ryan Snape on guitar, Jackson Mallet on guitar, Loki Bartlett on guitar, Dylan Ljungstrom on bass and Mitchell Harland on drums.
Russell Brown does a great job on the growl like in the above song, “Systematic Redesign”and for a little guy, Mitchell Harland really kicks it on drums. The band is supported well with their guitarists with some hardcore riffs. You can catch Promethean on Bandcamp, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. They’ve got a couple gigs coming up in Brisbane and I’m going to put them on my “must see” list before the year is out. Keep up the fantastic work guys!
In the meantime, I’ll keep relaxing until Wednesday when I’ll be rockin it in the moshpit with Pennywise. Let’s see if I can keep up with the young ones! Until next week, keep moshin’.
