Mosh Pit Monday
Welcome to Mosh Pit Monday and another great week to appreciate some new music and share the love. I’ll definitely be sharing the love soon. I get married in just under two weeks on the 12th of September and that’s all I seem to be focusing on (well, the fiance has me focusing on it). There’s last minute tidying jobs to do plus a bit of yard work. Next week we’ll be transforming the back yard into a wedding ceremony zone and reception area so I’ll have my work cut out for me. Looking forward to being married for the very first time. I must say though the nerves are starting to kick in slightly. All will be good on the day I’m sure.
For the final day of #AllAussieAugust, I’d like to introduce you to a local band from near my part of town, Magnertron. This heavy metal band from Brisbane has a father/son connection with Dad, Shane McNamara on rhythm guitar and vocals and son, Corey on lead. Shane is also the host of a locally produced Australia-wide music show, Underground Sounds which is a great way to hear of new and old metal music and bands.
Joining Shane and Corey is Adam Proctor on bass and Krist Rumbucket on drums (Krist also is the drummer for another Aussie band Dreamkillers.) The guys have supported many bands around Australia over the years as well as appearing on the bill of many a metal gig. They have produced a couple of CDs and have one in the works for 2015.
The guys have some seriously kick ass sounds and monster riffs in a similar style to Pantera and Sepultra as in one of their latest tracks above, “The Plague”. You can follow Magnertron on Facebook and Youtube to keep track of when and where they’ll be playing next plus listen to a few of their other tunes. You really should check these guys out.
In the meantime, hope you have a great week in music and think of me over the next couple of weeks getting ready for my big day. Keep moshin! ,,,/ ,,,/
