Mosh Pit Monday
Welcome to another week and another Mosh Pit Monday. I’ve had a great week working on my own music and wheeling and dealing a few of my guitars. Very happy with the tunes I’ve created. Just have to put some words to them and I’ll be good to go.
The latest addition to the collection is this Dave Mustaine signature series Dean guitar which sounds pretty damn good. I’d like to say the collection is complete but you can never have too many guitars. Right?
This week’s band I kinda stumbled across. Wovenwar are a heavy metal outfit out of San Diego, CA who have been hanging since 2013 after the break up of As I Lay Dying. Band members Nick Hipa (guitar),  Phil Sgrosso (guitar), Josh Gilbert (bass, vocals) and Jordan Mancino (drums) started Wovenwar and basically picked up where As I Lay Dying left off.  Nick’s lifelong friend, Shane Blay (Oh, Sleeper) was approached and joined the Wovenwar outfit like it was always meant to be.
The guys have released their debut album “Death to Rights” which contains similar hard hitting rock sounds to which they’re used to producing plus a few well calculated risks were taken and the result is solid.

Here is the single, “All Rise” from the album. Shane Blays comments, “Something good can come from misfortune. You have to always keep on going. These guys went through so much, and they’re still pushing ahead. I hope this inspires people to keep doing whatever they love to do.“  Of the album, Nick Hipa says, “We dealt with a lot personally while making this album. The way we always handled things was to write music and put ourselves into something that could speak louder. We put ourselves into this one hundred percent. Hopefully, that comes across.” It just goes to prove that you should never give up doing something that you love. Wovenwar have proven themselves as a heavy metal band in their own right. If you haven’t already, you can check out Wovenwar on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram. You can purchase the new album here on iTunes. You won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to the time when they can get downunder.

Hope your week in music is a good one. I’ve got my kids here for a week while they’re on school holidays. Not sure how much music will be created but will try to get to it as much as I can. Stay metal! ,,,/ ,,,/
