The Recording Studio is officially open for business. After a couple weeks of tinkering with a small space my partner had available at her place, I’ve managed to transform it into a relatively soundproof recording studio where I can work on my music. Using second hand carpet to line the walls, insulation to fill the wall space, reusing furniture and other bits and pieces I already had, and only a small amount of hardware purchased, I managed to complete the room on a very small budget.

The second hand desk holds a laptop, keyboard, audio box and other mixing equipment with a shelf above for music DVDs.

To the right of the desk is a Peavey Vyper 35 watt practice amp and a large selection of my CD collection, mainly heavy metal.

Further along that wall are shelves that contain more CDs and music DVDs, sheet music and other literature. I’ve also reused brackets and covered them with a foam material to store all of my guitars.

Along the back wall (and just to the right of the doorway) is a Korn poster I picked up from an op shop for a couple of dollars plus a collectable Metallica skateboard, spare skateboard decks and guitar straps.

And me, taking a few pics for the blog. The recording studio and all of the equipment, except for a few guitars currently in storage, are ready to get some serious jamming and recording started.
Stay tuned for more details on my equipment, my influences, CD reviews and the music I’ll be creating.
